The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, of Alex Murphy, of Summerside, aged 93 years. Born in Emerald, he was the son of the late James and Catherine (Deagan) Murphy. Survived by his wife Hazel (Arsenault) Murphy; sisters-in-law Frances Bernard, Shirley Arsenault and Marion Arsenault, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother John T. (Theresa) Murphy; brothers-in-law Syl Bernard, Gilbert Arsenault, Wilfred Arsenault and sister-in-law Mary Martin. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Friday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. James Catholic Church Cemetery, Summerfield.
