CARON, Ron
It is with great sadness the family of Ronald Caron announces his passing at Parkridge Centre in Saskatoon, SK on October 4, 2014 at the age of 66 years. Ron was born in Rosthern, SK and raised by his grandparents, Albert and Marjorie Caron in Batoche, SK. In his teens, he moved to Saskatoon and worked at a variety of jobs. In the mid 1970’s, he started working in the warehouse at Shelley Western, then Motorways as a delivery truck driver. Around 1983, he began driving bus for the City of Saskatoon and retired after 28 years of service. While working at Motorways, Ron helped create and coach a softball team and played right field. He curled and bowled for many years and enjoyed skiing and a variety of other sports. He was a diehard Montreal Candiens hockey fan. Ron also liked woodworking, doing odd jobs and helping his friends and neighbors with their projects. He enjoyed working around his house and yard to make it look nice. Ron loved family occasions. Always quick with a joke, he enjoyed making people laugh. Ron is predeceased by his grandparents Albert and Marjorie Caron; Aunts Agnes (Frank) Michalcuk, Evelyn (Joe) Boyer and Gertrude Richard and Uncles Joe (Agathe) and Tom Caron. Left to mourn are his daughter Sheila Caron; grandchildren Scott and Nakita Caron; mother Lillian Kotlarchuk; Aunts Nora (Marcien) Regnier, Hilda (Bill) Kuttnick, brother-in-law Laurent Richard, cousin Annette (Rudy) Nuszdorfer, as well as numerous other cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at Parkridge for their compassionate care during Ron’s stay. A Memorial Service for Ron will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St, first right past Briargate Rd) on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Ron’s honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society Saskatchewan (301 – 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1).
