BAILEY, DOROTHY - Dorothy Ann Bailey of Glen Haven, Nova Scotia, passed away while on holiday in Istanbul, Turkey on October 3rd, 2014. Daughter of the late Dr. Charles G. Harries and Jean (MacLean) Harries of New Glasgow; she is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Michael, daughter Angela, son Charles, and sister Joan Harries-Counsel of Peterborough, ON. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, particularly at Christmas, the arts, gardening, and down-hill skiing. An avid adventurer, she loved travelling the globe visiting several countries including Spain, Italy, France, Scotland, and Iceland, as well as much of south-eastern Europe. In the same spirit Dorothy spent time residing on both coasts of Canada in Halifax and Victoria, BC in addition to New Glasgow and Moncton, NB and the southern US. She took great pride in her architectural and eco-construction skills, taking courses to expand her knowledge and demonstrated in the design of two, highly energy efficient, family homes over the years.
The memorial service will be held in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Road, Upper Tantallon, NS on October 18, 2014 at 11:30 AM with her friend Nancy Fraser officiating. A reception will take place following the memorial service. Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
