Edna Shea

88, of Dartmouth, N.S., passed away on October 8, 2014 at the QE II Halifax Infirmary. Born in Belleoram, NL, she was a daughter of the late Captain Gabriel and Flora (McCouish) Fudge.
Edna was raised in Belleoram and moved to Dartmouth where she lived with the love of her life, Bert, whom she spent plenty of time touring around with. She volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary at the Dartmouth General Hospital for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, keeping many of the kids on the hill warm during the winter with mitts and hats. She also loved to read and owned countless books. Her later years were spent at Mellville Gardens, where she enjoyed her golden retirement years. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Bertram (Stephanie), Desmond (Janet); grandchildren, Anika, Erin and Bradley; great-grandchildren, Paris, Ivan and Kayden; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bert Joseph Shea; grandson, Christopher Shea; sister, Lillian; brothers, Murdock and Angus.
Edna has donated her body to Dalhousie Medical Science. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
