Amanda Marie Lynn Wiebe, age 36, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 3, 2014, at her home in Swift Current, SK. Amanda was born in Swift Current on August 22, 1978, to George & Connie Wiebe. She attended St. Joe’s, Oman, Irwin, SC Comp, and Maverick Schools, and obtained her GED from The College. Amanda started her career as a server at Pizza Hut and continued to work at numerous restaurants in the city, notably Mei-Mei’s and Casey’s where she was employed at the time of her passing. She truly enjoyed serving the public and had many loyal customers. She always had a smile and time to chat. Amanda enjoyed reading, listening to music and watching movies with her daughter. She also had a great fondness for animals, having a special pet dog, Dexter. Amanda had many struggles in her life and tried very hard to overcome them, losing her father being the most difficult one. She was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She will be greatly missed! Amanda leaves to mourn her passing, her daughters, Marlee and Maici-Jane; her mother, Connie; brothers, Mike and Shayne (Arla) – nephew, Connor George; Kirk Phillips; Darcy & Kathy Phillips; Uncle Ken (Glenda) Wiebe; Aunts, Mary Schultz, Nettie Wiebe and Irene Wiebe; numerous cousins; and her special family, Terry & Wadena Lasko and Arielle; Beatrice & Wilfred Leduc. She was predeceased by her father, George (2000); and by her Grandparents, Henry (1993) & Agatha (1999) Wiebe and Zonie Byers (1997). The Celebration of Life Service was held on Friday, October 10, 2014, at 2:00 pm from the East Side Church of God, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Kevin Snyder officiating. Chosen musical selections were “All of Me” and “Morning Has Broken”. Tributes were shared by Janet Baker, Doug Neufeld, Shayne Wiebe and Marlee Wiebe. In memory of Amanda Wiebe, donations made to a Fund for Amanda’s Daughters, c/o Connie Wiebe would be appreciated by the family.
