Date de décès : 17 octobre 2014

Frances Irene Meyer, age 91, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014, at the Swift Current Care Centre. Frances was born on February 19, 1923, and was raised in the Waldeck area. It was where she met and married Ed Meyer on September 17, 1944. Mom and Dad farmed in the Rush Lake area for 35 years. They were blessed with 7 children. She always had a huge vegetable garden, which lead to a lot of canning. Mom loved to cook and bake and was a great teacher in the kitchen. When she wasn’t cooking or baking, she was helping Dad with the farming, they were a great team together. In 1973, Mom and Dad sold the farm and moved into Swift Current. Mom worked at the Swift Current Union Hospital for 15 years. When Mom and Dad retired, they spent many hours working on their home and their flowers. Mom was a very loving and giving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She was always happy to see all the kids. Frances is survived by her seven children: Keith (Cindy) Meyer of Swift Current, SK, Brenda (Dave) Gielen of Ridgetown, ON, Marlene (Ken) Broccolo of Swift Current, SK, Delores (Bob) Donnelly of Swift Current, SK, Donna (Al) Farquhar of Chatham, ON, Marion (Ralph) Lange of Mayfair, SK, and Sharon (David) Nielsen of Swift Current, SK; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, with 2 more on the way; her brother in-law, Elmer (Edith) Meyer; and by sisters-in-law, Lena Meyer and Margaret Meyer. Frances was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Ed; a son, Edward, in infancy; and by two sons-in-law, Glendon Beisel and Leonard Beisel.
A Private Family Graveside Service was held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at 1:00pm, from the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Prairie View, SK, with Rev. Greg Keil officiating.
