It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Jane Dearing peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014.
Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Alice and Robert Ludlow.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harold 'Duke' Dearing; children, Harold Jr. 'Duke', Elizabeth (Steve); Cheryl, Darren (Tracy); grandchildren, Sean, Brittany, Shelby, Candace, Duke, Ashley, Matthew; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Ben; sisters, Frances, Rosella, Barbara Anne, Cecelia, Yvonne, Janie; brothers, Mickey, Johnny.
She was predeceased by brother, Tommy.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Mary Jane adored her family and friends and was always ready to feed whoever stopped by. She had a whitty sense of humour and could hold a conversation about politics, pop culture and of course, baseball. She was a lover of music and was always dressed to the nines, but it was her kindness and generosity that she will be remembered for. At Mary Jane’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Donations in her memory may be made to the IWK Children’s Foundation. A special thanks to Dr. Neil Bower for his kindness, compassion and friendship.
