Lieu de décès : Bear Point, Nouvelle Ecosse
Date de décès : 1er novembre 2014

SMITH, Wayne Clinton, 58, November 1, 2014, Bear Point. It is through broken hearts we whisper the passing of a courageous man. Wayne Clinton Smith, whose earthly journey ended, wrapped in the arms of his wife and holding the hand of his only son. Born July 3, 1956, he was the son of Mona and the late Clinton Smith. Wayne and his sister Rhonda grew up in Newellton, Cape Sable Island. A fisherman most of his life, Wayne and David learned the ropes of lobstering together, creating an unbreakable father-son bond that he would cherish his entire life. Wayne loved to tease, and as he put it “get people going”. His dry sense of humour and ability to have people shake their head and laugh will always be remembered. He so enjoyed being on the move... going for drives, his morning coffee with his friends at Tim’s and his daily visits with “Nanny Mona”. He looked forward to summers spent at Highbury Gardens, camping, where he and Jill made many lifelong friends. Family was everything to Wayne. His granddaughters, Emily & Peyton were his pride and joy. Knowing his life was nearing its end, Wayne made a point of creating extra special memories for the people he loved. His main concern through this illness was what it was putting his family through; he fought hard and didn’t leave until he heard a whisper from his wife, telling him it was ok to let go. Wayne is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jill; son David (Erica) Smith; granddaughters, Emily and Peyton, Doctor’s Cove; mother; Mona (Nickerson) Smith, Newellton, sister; Rhonda (Smith) Belliveau, Woods Harbour, nephew, Michael (Melanie) Belliveau, sister-in- law, Llawna (Leslie) Brannen, brothers-in-law Howard Goodwin, Wade Goodwin & numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by father; Clinton Smith, father-in-law; Howdy Goodwin, mother-in-law; Hulda (Penney) Goodwin, brother-in- law; Dale Belliveau. There will be a Memorial Service held Wednesday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. from the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Phil Williams officiating. Donations in memory of Wayne may be made to the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund. Thank You to Dr. Marais, Dr. Murphy, nurses in Oncology and the nursing staff of 4 East for your excellent care.
