Barbara 'Barb' MacSween

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Barbara 'Barb' MacSween, 96, passed away Monday at Celtic Court in Sydney.
Born in 1918 to William MacDonald and Minnie Rowe of Sydney she founded MacSween’s Dairy with her husband and worked there for over 50 years until it closed in 2005.
Barbara was predeceased by her daughter Barbara Ann Anderson and granddaughter Lynn Margaret Anderson in 1971 and by her husband Leslie MacSween in 1994.
She is survived by her grandson Guy Anderson and three great-grandchildren, John, Trinity and Matthew Anderson.
Full of energy and drive Barbara had a significant extended family that she loved as her own. Scott, Mark, Gloria and Harold Anderson (1945-2012) were that extended family.
A celebration of Barb’s life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.
