It is with broken hearts that we, the family announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, Dorothy Costello on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at the Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Freda (Davidson) Gallant.
Dorothy was a longtime resident of Harbourstone. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, good company and a good cup of tea.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Leona (Burt) LeBlanc, Sydney, Charlene Costello, Halifax, Michelle (Tim) Bonnell, Sydney; sons, Lorne (Cathy) Costello, British Columbia, Gordon (Deborah) Costello, Sydney; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, her brother, Albert (Betty) Gallant, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Costello, sisters, Verna Gallant and Muriel Hoban, brother Kenzie Gallant.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with Sheldon Chant officiating.
Interment to follow in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
