Bekar, Sister Rose of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul died peacefully on December 10, 2014 at Providence Motherhouse, Kingston in her 77th year of religious life. Born in Bayard, Sask., on November 21, 1918, Sister Rose is predeceased by her parents, Joseph Bekar and Ludvina Maierhoffer, her brothers, Michael, Carl, Clement, Casper, Edward, Bernard and Isidor and her sisters, Hedwig Rieberger, Michaelena Kavasnicki, Annie Lang, Otillia Thiele and Josephine Ludwar. Sister will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends, and by the members of her religious community. Resting at Providence Motherhouse, 1200 Princess St., Monday, December 15, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., the Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Chapel of Mary, Mother of Compassion, Providence Motherhouse on Tuesday, December 16 at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston.
