The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I., on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, of Gerald Elvin Hardy of Miscouche and formerly of Elmsdale, P.E.I., aged 86 years. Gerald was born in Brockton, P.E.I., to his late parents Jacob and Rita (nee MacArthur) Hardy. Beloved husband of the late Roma (nee Thomson) Hardy and loving father of Anne Satten of Thunder Bay, Ont., Allan (Sandy) of Sackville, N.B., Donald (Cathy) of Lefroy, Ont., and David of New Market, Ont. Also lovingly remembered by his 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his sisters Erma Hardy (Allan MacAusland) of Mill River and Doris Flamminio (Nick) of Summerside. Besides his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his brothers Ralph and Murray Hardy. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Tuesday, Dec. 16, where a funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 p.m. Interment to take place in Lot 16 United Church Cemetery. Memorial donations in Gerald’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
