SHEARER, Wayne Peter – age 68. It is with great sadness we the family of Wayne Peter Shearer of Greenwood, formerly of Lawrencetown, announces he passed away peacefully in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Sunday December 21, 2014 with his wife and children by his side. Wayne was a son of the late Harvey and Etta (Whitman) Shearer, Lawrencetown. Wayne is survived by his common law spouse Carol Beals (Bezanson); son Allen (Kim Adsett), Kingston; step-grandson Cody; granddaughters Christina and Catherine; stepdaughter, Tammy Beals (Reg Cole), Lakeville; step granddaughters, Shantell, Kayla, Miley and Savannah; step great- granddaughter, Aubrey whom we just met two days before; stepson, Stephen Bezanson (Kim Blades), Waterville; his sisters, Annette Dumbrell, Lawrencetown; Norma (Rick) Taylor, Lawrencetown; Susan Smith (Jim Lutz), Wilmot; his brothers, Gordon (Shirley) Shearer, Saskatoon; Gary (Bev) Shearer, Lawrencetown; uncle George Whitman, Middleton; aunt Goldie Ellis, Bridgetown, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Bill, Paul, Jack and sister, Shirley Langille. Wayne worked most of his life in construction in the Valley, also Halifax and Vancouver. He most enjoyed doing finish work and fine cabinetry. Wayne’s passion was playing country music, which he had done in several bands across the province. A big thank you goes out to Dr. Paul McGuire, Dr. Stern, Dr. Anne Gordon, Dr. Rebecca Clark and Dr. Mulherin and nurses and staff at Valley Regional Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service was held Saturday, December 27, 2014 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. A reception for family and friends followed the service. Private family interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown.
