It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alice Constance “Connie” MacLeod (nee Holroyd), at the age of 91. She died peacefully with her family by her side at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on December 27, 2014.
Connie was born, raised her family and lived her final years in her beloved Winsloe making her one of the longest-living residents of the community she loved and contributed so much to.
On December 22, 2014, Connie suffered a severe stroke in her home. A woman devoted to her family, it seems fitting that she had just finished writing Christmas cards to all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a personal note to each. A final gesture that we will cherish. She leaves behind many who adored her.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Finley MacLeod.
Loving mother of Keith MacLeod (Marjorie Hendricken), Charlottetown; Donna Green, Charlottetown; David MacLeod (Maria Goddyn), Winsloe; and John MacLeod (Doris Newton), Brackley. She was “Nanny” to Carolyn Berven, Kim Green, Todd Green, Kathy Peters, Darcy MacLeod, Christopher MacLeod, Mark MacLeod, Stephen MacLeod and Lindsay MacLeod. The pictures of her sweet eight great-grandchildren were displayed proudly on her fridge for all to see.
Connie was predeceased by her parents, Stephen and Annie (Stead) Holroyd; brothers, John (Lois) and Eric Holroyd; sisters-in-law, Helen (Willard) Roberts and Edith MacLeod; brother-in-law, Sterling (Hazel) MacLeod; and son-in-law, Willard Green.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. Funeral Wednesday from St. John’s Anglican Church, Milton, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery beside her husband, Finley.
