Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Thursday, January 8, 2015, of Bernadette McQuaid (nee Walsh) of South Melville, age 71 years. Bernadette was born December 19, 1943, in Charlottetown, the daughter of the late Louis and Catherine Walsh. Beloved wife of Ralph McQuaid. Loving mother ofWayne, South Melville; Louanne, Rocky Point; and Kate (Alma), Dartmouth, N.S. Also survived by sisters Marjorie Crawford (Alfred - deceased), Charlottetown; Kathleen MacDonald (Lorne - deceased), Charlottetown; Marion Myers (Gordon), Hope River; Rose Hennessey (Andy) Charlottetown; brothers Emeric Walsh (Pauline), Hunter River; Leo Walsh (Betty), Hope River; Earl Walsh (Gloria), North Rustico; special nephew Richard Walsh (Louise), New Glasgow; sisters-in-law Mary Walsh, Charlottetown; Shirley Walsh-McCarthy, Rusticoville; Elaine Toole (Gavin), South Melville; Eleanor Tierney (Gerald - deceased), Winsloe; Kay McQuaid, South Melville; many nieces and nephews, and special friend Marlene Adams. Predeceased by infant son Louis, brothers Vernon and Stephen, and in-laws Austin and Teresa McQuaid. Resting at the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, with visiting hours Sunday, 1–4 and 7–9 p.m. Funeral mass from St. Joseph's Church, Kelly's Cross, Monday, Jan. 12, at 10:30 a.m. If so desired memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph's Cemetery Fund or QEH oncology unit.
