William John Wilson
Lieu de naissance : New Wateford
Lieu de décès : Logan Lake, Colombie Britannique, Canada
Date de décès : 10 janvier 2015
On Jan. 10, 2015 after a long battle with cancer John died peacefully at his home in Logan Lake, B,C.
John will be fondly remembered by his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with people especially if there was something he could do to help you out.
He was born in New Waterford, N.S. and grew up in Scotchtown. He left Cape Breton shortly after he graduated from vocational school as a diesel mechanic, but his heart was always there and he returned on numerous occasions over the years to spend time with family and friends. As a young man he finally settled in B.C. and for many years lived on Vancouver Island, where he married and raised his family in Nanaimo. In later years he lived and worked in Medicine Hat, Alta. His final years were spent in Logan Lake, B.C., where he became a very active member of that community serving on the town council, working with Citizens on Patrol and tirelessly working on the Pond Hockey tournament. John was an avid hunter, fisherman and dart player.
John was the proud father to his son, Glen (Shelley). His daughter, Sandy, predeceased him. He was the grandfather of Stephanie Sherrington and Darrin Wilson. He had two great-grandchildren, Kayden and Austen.
Along with Glen, Shelley and his grandchildren, John will be sadly missed by his wife, Janine Pryce; one brother, Joe Moore and two sisters, Irene Efford and Gail Wilson-Marcocchio. John was especially close to several cousins and nieces and nephews who will surely miss “Uncle Johnny”.
Besides his daughter, Sandy, John was predeceased by his father, John Wilson and his mother, Irene (Moore) Wilson.
In keeping with his wishes no funeral will be held.
Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
