Hilda, Coxheath, formerly of Port Hawkesbury, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Little Hampton, Sussex, England, she was a daughter of the late Alfred John and Victoria Maud (Hawtin) Grover.
Hilda was a member of the Canadian Corp of Commissioners and was also a volunteer Librarian at Centennial Elementary School, Port Hawkesbury. She was a member of Starlight #66 O.E.S. Port Hawkesbury and also a member of the Women’s Royal Artillery Corp of Great Britain, something she was very proud of.
Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Brown, Delta B.C.; sons, Donald, Colin, both of Coxheath; William 'Bill' (Rita), Costa Rica; sister, Violet Bryant, Horsham, England; grandchildren, Jason (Tracey) Brown, Andrea (Jeff) Bernard, Caitlin Campbell; great-grandchildren, Bailey Bernard, Emily Bernard, Emmett Brown.
She was predeceased by her husband, Tom; sisters, Nellie Narroway and Elsie Carter; brother, Cecil.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one’s choice.
