Gerald MacCormack

Lieu de décès : Albert Bridge
Date de décès : 21 janvier 2015

Jerry passed away peacefully at home in Albert Bridge on January 21st, 2015 surrounded with the love and support from his family and most specifically, his loving wife, Glenda Marie MacCormack whom he adored.
Gerald was the oldest child of the late Douglas and Ellen (Turner), Sydney.
Glenda and Jerry spent 38 years of their lives together and shared the joy of raising three children daughters, Tammy, Sask, Susan at home and their son, Daniel, Sask. He also was a wonderful grandfather to his four grandchildren, Jarred and Alisha at home and Kayla and Coleman, Saskatchewan.
He retired after 26 years of service at Sydney Steel Plant. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing with good friends Allen House, Gary Krasowski, and Allen MacSween. Jerry was a faithful member of the Wildlife Association for many years. He loved playing Tarbish and would travel weekly to Trout Brook Rd and also Grand Mira South, where he will be dearly missed.
The family will continue to celebrate his life and cherish the memories they made together, especially the many vacations to Whale Cove, since 1974, and the lobster boil on the beach in Catalone Gut every year. He will also be remembered for his love for CBC radio. Jerry looked forward to tuning in to "Weekend Morning." After being a regular caller, he was very happy to have met Stan Carew and was honoured that Stan recognized him as a loyal fan. Jerry has left this life the same way he lived his life; in a peaceful, kind way. He loved fishing with Allen House, Gary Krasowski and Allen MacSween, especially to the “still waters.” He was also planning to do some hunting this year when he returned from his enjoyable drive across the country to visit his children, grandchildren and siblings. He enjoyed taking his cousin Donnie MacDonald to “Tim’s” every Wednesday.
Jerry is also survived by his siblings, Kathryn (Phillip) Cogswell, Ellen (Kevin) Batherson, Lorraine MacCormack, Jenny (Bob) Keoughan, Ralph MacCormack, John (Dorothy McLeod) MacCormack, James (Joan Mahoney) MacCormack; his aunts, Edna (Tim) Nearing and Janet (George) House. Also Godchild, Cheryl (Burns) MacDonald. In-laws, Marlene (Albert) MacDonald, Vincent (Ronelda) MacDonald, Kenny (Donna) MacDonald, Aubrey (Francis Burns) MacDonald, Joe MacDonald, Joan MacDonald, Adeline MacDonald, Annie Mae (Paul) Burrows, Shirley Boutilier and Maureen MacDonald.
Besides his parents Gerald was predeceased by his brother Steven and brother-in-law Sherwood MacDonald.
Visitation will take place 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday in the SW Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St. A Celebration of Jerry’s life will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Rev Sheldon Chant officiating. Family flowers only.
