The death occurred peacefully at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, N.S., on Friday, January 23, 2015, of Eric Hardie Ward at the age of 65 years, formerly of Richmond. Eric was born in Richmond on June 17, 1949, son of the late Albert James and Clarissa Virginia (nee MacFadyen) Ward. He will be greatly missed by common-law partner Debbie McLarin, his son Albert (Bonnie) of Richmond, daughter Tiffany of Summerside and the mother of the children Linda Picke. Eric is survived by sisters Clarissa "Tessie" McCarville of Borden, Barbara (Clifford) Paugh of Richmond, Joan Ward (friend Reg Noonan) of Summerside, Julie (Armand) DesRoches of Charlottetown and three adopted sisters Judy, Rose Mary and Alberta. Eric is also survived by uncles, aunts and sister-in-law Caroline Ward of Wellington. Eric had two special friends, his dogs Ponkey and Mickey. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Wendell and brother-in-law Roy McCarville. He will be resting at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville. By personal request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. Interment in the Victoria West Cemetery at a later date.
