Gertrude was an excellent cook and enjoyed feeding one person or a crowd. She was always available to lend a sympathetic ear, prepare a meal or lend whatever support she could, no matter the time of day or night. There were always lots of hugs and cookies at Nanny's house! She loved baking, knitting, crocheting and being with children. Many summer days were spent on the road, with a picnic lunch and grandchildren in tow. Winter saw her knitting mittens to give to any child who visited - one year she gave away 100 pair. For weddings, special occasions or just because, there was always a special afghan and a loving hug.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. As keeping with Gertrude's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private family interment will take place at the Lepreau Community Cemetery in the spring. In Gertrude's memory, donations to the Lepreau Community Cemetery or to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
