Janet MacRae

MacRAE, JANET HELEN
With sorrow, the family of Janet Helen (Baird) MacRae announces her death on February 7, 2015.
Janet was born March 9, 1922 in PEI and had a life-long attachment to New Brunswick, especially the St. John River Valley where she spent her youth. After she married Donald MacRae, they moved first to St. Thomas, ON, and then to Goderich, where they enjoyed many happy years. After retirement from the family jewellery business on The Square, Janet worked for a time at The Signal Star. She was a talented pianist, an enthusiastic member of the MacKay Choristers, and was active in various church groups, including the choir.
Janet was predeceased by her husband, Donald L. MacRae, her father, John R. Baird, and her mother, Edith K. (McLellan) Baird, as well as by her sister, Margaret (Baird) Murray, her brother, Norman, her twin, Fallie, and her grandson, Alex.
She is survived by her children, Duncan and Anne; also by her grandchildren, Scott, Margie, Elisa and Iain, and great-grandchildren Lucy and Aden. Special friends Holly Morrison and Ruth Vincent are remembered with affection and gratitude.
Friends are invited to join the family at a Celebration of Janet’s Life at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, held at Lakeshore United Church, 56 North Street, Goderich, ON. Reception to follow the service. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Lakeshore United Church, or The Livery: Goderich Little Theatre, 35 South St., Goderich, ON, N7A 3L4, or other charity would be gratefully acknowledged, and may be arranged through McCallum & Palla Funeral Home, 519-524-7345.
