WILLIAMS, Jessie Leona, 89, Roseway Manor, Sandy Point, passed away suddenly and peacefully in Roseway Hospital on Friday, February 6, 2015. Born in West Green Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Isaah and Mary Lee (Burke) Firth. Mom lived for many years in Clyde River and then resided in Roseway Manor. She was a devoted mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom was a homebody and she loved to cook, make Christmas cakes and good meals. She kept her house spotless and loved to have friends and family come to visit. She enjoyed having her sister visit for a few days, play TV bingo, and drive her car, which she did until the age of 88 years. When we visited mom at the Manor she would always be ready with her coat and shoes on, asking “where are we going today, Tim Horton`s, lunch or just for a drive.” She is survived by daughter, Bonnie, West Green Harbour; Gary (Connie), Port LaTour; Brian (Nancy), Whitehorse; Lawrence (Heather), North East Point; Kevin (Annette), Clyde River; sister, Marion, Cape Island; brother, Ivan Firth, Atlantic Heights, Lockeport; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Hector Williams; brothers, Victor and Rodney; sisters, Evelyn, Viola, Thelma and Elizabeth; son-in-law, Clayton Burke and great-granddaughter, Amber. The family would like to thank Dr. Keeler for being her family doctor and being with mom when she passed away at Roseway Hospital as well as the nursing staff that attended mom. Thank you to the staff at Roseway Manor for the care given to mom while she was a resident. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 10 from 7-9 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson`s Funeral Home, Shelburne where the funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 11 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Cindy Dunnett officiating.
