MURPHY, Margaret Lorraine – age 56, Wilmot, Annapolis Co., passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at home. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Ian MacDonald (Halifax) and Celena (Hines) MacRae (Cole Harbour). She is survived by her husband and soul mate of 36 years, David Laverne Murphy, Wilmot; son, Robert (Jennifer) Murphy, Alliston, Ont.; daughter, Melanie (Dewayne) Attwell, Murphy Lake; beloved granddaughter, Ayla Murphy, Alliston, Ont.; sister, Valerie MacRae, Cole Harbour; best friend, Penny O’Rourke, Port Maitland. She was predeceased by her step-father, Norman MacRae; grandmother, Dolly Hines, who played a big part in her life as she grew up. Margaret attended school at Saint Joseph’s Convent, Mabou, Cape Breton, and was proud to have attended school and became friends with the Rankin family. She returned to Stellarton to attend school there, where she would join the Balmoral Pipe Band and was proud of being able to play the bag pipes and march playing in many parades. Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her beloved cats, Lucy, Lexie and Charlie. A Celebration of Life took place from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, February 8, in the Wilmot Community Centre, 13972 Hwy # 1, Wilmot. Donations in her memory may be made to the Kings Co.
