Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, Lester O. Hayter of Carbonear, age 86 years. Predeceased by wife: Rose Marie; brothers: Allan and Ronald; sisters: Hazel, Madge (Russell) and Olive (George). Left to mourn, six daughters: Patsy (Tom) Dunphy, Cindy (Wade) Spurrell, Jackie Hayter, Mary Puddister and Laurie (Wade) Sheppard, all of Carbonear and Leslie (Ryan) McFarland, Calgary, AB; son: Allan (Debbie), Mount Pearl; eleven grandchildren: Rosemary (Ryan), Angela (Curtis), Stephen, Andrew, Korey, Mikey (Kerri), Brittany, Chelsea, Taylor, Bailey and Fionn; three great-grandchildren: Summer, Kaylee and Sadie; sisters-in-law: Anna Hayter and Eileen (Amos, deceased) Penney, both of Carbonear, Marcella (Bill, deceased) Stone, Harbour Grace and Clara (Bill) Connors, Florida; brothers-in-law: Donald (Janice) Stone and Albert (Florence, deceased) Stone, both of Harbour Grace; also extended family, Patricia Butt and other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. Brian Colbourne conducted the funeral service to take place on Friday, February 13 from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment took place in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in his memory may be made to the Lester Hayter Memorial Fund.
