MCCONNELL, GRETTA LORETTA (PRICE) - The passing of Gretta Loretta (Price) McConnell, formerly of Hanwell, NB, wife of the late Mariner McConnell, occurred on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home, Boiestown, NB. Born on April 11, 1924 in Carroll’s Crossing, NB, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Ella Mae (Arbeau) Price. Gretta was previously a cook at the Stan Cassidy Rehabilitation Centre. She was a member of the Legion Branch #4 Auxiliary and enjoyed Bingo. Gretta is survived by her daughters, Mabel Ingalls and Judy Robichaud (Dusty); her sons, Vance Lyons, Richard Lyons (Cami), Howard Lyons, Harold Lyons (Colleen), Berlin Lyons (Starr) and Albert Lyons; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; step daughters, Wanda (Jerry O’Brien) and Adele Knox (Bill); step sons, Warren McConnell (Margo) and Richard McConnell (Gwen); sister, Vilda Niethforth and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, John Lyons; daughters, Norma and Marcella; grandchildren, Michael Lyons, Albert Jr. Lyons, Brenda Ducharm and Evelyn Storey.
Visitation will take place at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Doaktown on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 12 to 2 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Brian Spence officiating and Father Kevin Borthwith assisting. Interment will take place in St. George’s Rural Cemetery, St. George, NB.
