It is with great sadness that the family of the late FRED BANFIELD of Burin announces his passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin, on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the age of 79. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife, Dorothy of 50 years; sons, David (Julia Whalen) of Fort McMurray, AB, Randy (Cathy) of Burin and Stephen (Wanda) of Fort McMurray, AB; daughter, Sandra Banfield (Craig) of Burin Bay Arm; brothers, Don (Georgina) of St. John’s, Henry (Lillian) of Bay L’Argent, Lloyd (Shirley) of Bay L’Argent and Frank (Esther) of Marystown; sister, Jean Lawrence (Gus) of Bay L’Argent; 5 grandchildren; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by parents, Clyde & Clara Banfield; sisters, Blanche Hawes & Alva Banfield.

The Funeral Service took place at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Ship Cove, Burin, on Tuesday, March 3, at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Hodder’s Point, Burin. In lieu of flowers donations in Fred’s memory may be made to Holy Trinity Church, Ship Cove, Burin.
