CHETWYND, Emily Irene, 91, Barrington, formerly of Baccaro passed away at Bay Side Home Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Born in Port La Tour, she was the daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Perry) Salisbury. She was a member of Wesley Baccaro United Church. During WWII and for a number of years afterword she worked for MTT as a telephone operator in Halifax. She enjoyed many summers in Alberta and travelled throughout Western Canada, even making a trip to the Yukon and Alaska in 1984. She enjoyed her hobbies of sewing, crocheting, hooking mats, and helping her sisters with quilting. She is survived by her sons, Steven, Baccaro and John (Delia), West Pubnico; sister, Alice (Clyde) Smith, Port La Tour; grandchildren, Teri-Lynn (Donald), Corinne (Graham) Ross; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Emilee Ross. She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace; sisters, Margaret Smith and Mattie Salisbury; brothers, Harry and George Salisbury. The family would like to thank the staff of Bay Side Home and Dr. Yee for the loving care that she received during her years at Bay Side. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, at H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Rev. Galen Smith officiating. Interment to follow in the Woodside Cemetery, Port La Tour. There will be a reception following the funeral service at Port La Tour Baptist Church, everyone is welcome to attend.
