Wilson passed away peacefully at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on March 13, 2015.
Born in North Sydney on Aug. 9, 1944. He was a son of the Late Harold and Janet 'Nettie' (Inch) Ball.
Wilson lived all his life in Leitches Creek and was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Sydney Mines. He worked with Dunlap's Lumber and Trucking, Lynk Electric, Marine Atlantic and Nova Scotia Department of Highways in Sydney River and Halifax.
Wilson loved his tractor, working on his car and shovelling snow for his family and neighbours. He was a resident of Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Miner's Lane, for more than nine years.
Wilson is survived by sister Margaret Jane Whatley; brothers, Willard, and Thomas (Glenda); nieces, Janet Irene and Laura Jane Whatley as well as several cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by nephew Jason Ball and brother-in-law John Whatley.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, 10 Clyde Ave., Sydney Mines. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday March 17, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home. Burial to take place at a later date.
