SMITH, James Michael – age 75 of Lake George Road, Yarmouth Co., N.S. passed away on March 12, 2015 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born December 10, 1939 he was a son of the late James B. and Margaret (Boudreau) Smith. James worked as a lighthouse keeper on Green Island and was a lobster fisherman. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, especially deer. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Nelson, Yarmouth; son, Michael (Angela) Smith, Eel Brook, Yarmouth Co.; brothers, Edwin in Ottawa, and Mark in U.S.A; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife, Bernice Smith; and son Wesley. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by family request. An evening memorial service was held Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 7 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Steven Bourque officiating.
