WILLIAM ‘WRAY’ JORDAN
November 26, 1930 - March 16, 2015
The soul of this good and gentle man passed peacefully from this world to the next in the early morning hours of Monday March 16, 2015 at the Regina General Hospital. He will be remembered with much love and greatly missed by his family - daughters Kim and Deb (David); son Terry (Teresa); his grandchildren Cullen (Andi), Keeley, Matthew and Will; brother Norman (Karen); sisters Marion, Elsie and Marlene (Lyle); sisters-in-law Ruth Jordan and Marg Floren and brother-in-law Bob Kasnick, his nieces and nephews in the Jordan and Cullen families and his many friends. Wray was predeceased by his wife Theresa (Tess); granddaughter Carley; his parents William and Ada (Walls) Jordan; brothers Paul and Albert and sisters Thelma and Dorothy. Wray was born into the large, busy family of William and Ada on November 26, 1930. He and his eight siblings were raised in Goodwater in southeast Saskatchewan. His family and community very much shaped how Wray lived his life and what he valued in it; kindness to and respect of others, hard work, good natured humour, and an appreciation of music, sports, nature and the world surrounding him. He was always the first to pitch in and help with whatever task was at hand, especially if you could visit and have a bit of fun while doing so. Wray began a lifelong career in the Saskatchewan Public Service at the Saskatchewan Training School (STS) in Weyburn when he was in late adolescence. It was while working there that Wray met the young nurse who would become his future wife and lifetime partner, Tess Cullen. Tess and Wray were married on June 18, 1955. The transfer of STS to a new location meant a move for the young couple and they made Moose Jaw their home for the next 49 years. Upon Tess’ passing in 2004, Wray moved to Regina, where he resided at the time of his death. The family would like to express sincere thanks to those who supported and eased Dad’s journey, especially over the past few number of weeks - Dr. Gordon Chin and the nursing team at Victoria East Medical Clinic and the care team on 6F at the Regina General Hospital. A Celebration of Wray’s life will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday March 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing to honour his memory can do so through a donation to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, the Salvation Army Haven of Hope or STARS Saskatchewan.
