It is with heavy hearts that we, the family announce the passing of our beloved mom/grandma/great-grandma and great-great-grandma on April 6, 2015, Rose Boyer (née Mckay). Rose was born October 4, 1936 in Kinistino, Saskatchewan. Rose was a vocal Metis activist who believed in the rights of the Metis heritage throughout the province and Canada. She loved to cook and do many different types of crafts. Rose was well known for her master Bannock making skills throughout the province. She will be missed by all her family, friends and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing how big of a heart Rose had. Rose leaves to cherish her memory: her children Donna - Devynn, Deidre (Steve); Robert - Roxanne; Melissa; Jennifer - Mel; Trish; Bob (Joyce) Boyer; Russel (Corine) Boyer; Garry (Cheryl) Boyer; Phil (Gail) Boyer; Doug; Karen (Richard) Starr; Linda (Glenn) Morin; her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her loving companion, her dog Felix; her brothers Melvin (Myrtle) McKay, Gerald (Janet) McKay, Wes (Marilyn) McKay, Dale McKay, Franklin (Susan) McKay; her sisters Vera Servetnyk, Freida Church, Floranne Ebach, Helen Hurket. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9 at River Park Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10 at River Park Memorial Chapel. Reverend Rick Martin will officiate. Interment will take place in the Glen Mary Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Paul Olson, Funeral Director.
