With broken and very heavy hearts we sadly announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Bertha on April 10th, 2015 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. She entered eternal rest as she lived her life, at peace and surrounded by her loving family to whom she always gave her unconditional love and support. Pre-deceased by her husband and soulmate Harold JR.; brothers Tobias and Albert; sister Angela and sister-in-law Daphne Dillon. Bertha leaves behind with unforgettable memories her two devoted children, daughter Darlene (John Harris) and son Jeffery (Madonna Connors); five grandchildren Jodilyn, Kristopher (Candice), Lori, Todd, Steven; five great grandchildren Kameron, Avery, Aiden, Kaiana, Jailey; her sister and best friend Bernice Bussey; sister-in-law Elizabeth Marsh (Ivan); sister-in-law and dear friend Elsie Upham (Jack); brother-in-laws William (Elizabeth, deceased) and Robert; and many nieces and nephews. Bertha will also be sadly missed by her very large extended family, her many lifelong friends, including her dear friend Catherine Halliday; neighbors in Fort Amherst, the ladies of the Agnes Pratt Auxiliary which she was a member, and the residents and health care professionals at Agnes Pratt home where she had resided for the past six years. Visitors are welcome to reminisce and share their fond memories of Bertha with the family at Barrett's Funeral Home, Saturday April 11th and Sunday April 12th, 2015 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, or to express their condolences and sign the guest book by visiting www.barretts.ca. Please join Bertha's family for a celebration of her life at George Street United Church on Monday, April 13th, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Cremation to follow funeral service, interment will take place at a later date. In honour of Bertha, donations in her memory may be made to the Agnes Pratt Auxiliary or the Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach Centre of George Street United Church. Because of Bertha's love for all things living, flowers would be graciously accepted as well.
