Date de décès : 11 avril 2015

Ruggles, Robert Lemoine - Of Bridgetown, N.S., aged 89, passed away at Mountain Lea Lodge nursing home on April 11, 2015. He was born January 1926, the son of Harry Lemoine Ruggles and Eileen Copeland (Christie) Ruggles. He was a lifetime resident of Bridgetown and is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Maxine (Williams) Ruggles; children Tim (Tina), Round Hill; David, Fort McMurray; Susan (Brien) Stackhouse, Saint John; grandchildren Jessica, Matthew and Andrew; and step-grandsons, Jeb and Shawn Deveau. He is also survived by nieces Sheryl, Pamela and Cynthia; nephew Charles; and sister-in-law Hester Allan. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Ted, sister-in-law Barbara, brother-in-law Stuart, nieces Elizabeth and Janet, and daughter-in-law Christine. Robert, known to most as Bob, attended King’s Collegiate in Windsor and Bridgetown High School. He worked for many years at H.L. Ruggles Wholesale Grocers Ltd. until 1967, and then at the Graves Riteway store in Bridgetown and TRA Wholesalers Ltd. in Middleton. After retiring in 1991, he and Maxine took several trips to British Columbia, some by train which he enjoyed immensely. They also travelled a few times to Florida with Susan and her family, and enjoyed many road trips in the Maritime Provinces as well as to New York City. Bob was a long-standing, active member of St. James Anglican Church, a former member of the Bridgetown Lion’s Club. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather and a caring neighbour always willing to lend a hand. Bob never said an unkind word about anyone, had a great sense of humour, and was well-liked by all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be greatly missed. We, the family, thank the V.O.N. for their care of Bob at his home and the staff at Mountain Lea Lodge for their very special, compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. No visitation. A memorial service was held at St. James Anglican Church in Bridgetown on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Bridgetown or the Bridgetown Fire Department or any other charity. On line condolences may be sent to www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
