WILLIAMS, GEORGE FREDERICK
It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of George Frederick "Fred" Williams on April 14th, 2015, at the Oromocto Public Hospital. He was born in Gagetown, NB on March 4th, 1937 to the late George and Beatrice Williams.
Fred spent his life being a loving father and husband. He spent his entire career working for Scotiabank and then retired back to Gagetown. Fred worked with various charitable and service organizations including the Lions Club, Rotary Club, and various church groups. He is former treasurer for Grace United Church and served on the Planning Advisory Committee for the village of Gagetown.
Fred is survived by his wife, Joan; children, David and Joanne; and grandchildren, Laura and Connor. He is also survived by his siblings, Pat Boone (Junior), Richard (Lillian), Bernice Urquart (Doug), Barb Dykeman (Gerald), Valerie Gauvin (Rick), Betty Lawson (Gordon) and John (Barb).
He was predeceased by his sister, Alice.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Friday, April 17th, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held at Grace United Church in Gagetown, NB on Saturday, April 18th, 2015 at 2:00 pm with The Rev. Jane Johnson officiating. Interment will take place in the Grace United Church Cemetery. All are welcome to join the family for a reception at the Gagetown Royal Canadian Legion, Br. #71, following interment.
