ARSENAULT, Edgar Frank – age 61 of Melvern Square passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Northfield, NB, he was a son of the late Francis Joseph “Frank” Arsenault and Rita Marie (Williams) McNamara. Ed retired after 21 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force serving as a Logistics Officer and later as Honorary Colonel of 14 Mission Support Squadron. Ed was employed for 17 years with the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board (AVRSB) having worked in various positions and most recently as Transportation Coordinator. Physical fitness was important to Ed and he was an avid runner, hiker and cyclist. Ed enjoyed playing his guitar and riding his motorcycle. He loved his family dearly and his biggest joy was spending time with his children and granddaughter. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years the former Deborah Nash; his daughters, Melanie (Richard) Smith, Musquodobit Harbour, NS and Larkhill, England; Colleen (Alexander) Curry, Toronto, ON; his son, Stephen (Sarah-Jane) Arsenault, Bedford, NS; his sisters, Barbara (Gilbert) Baker, Elora, ON; Diane Beecroft, Lloydminster, AB; Darlene (Bandt) Raven, Lethbridge, AB; his brothers, Donald (Cathy) Arsenault, Miscouche, PE; Gary (Joanne) Arsenault, Lethbridge, AB; his beloved granddaughter, Claire Curry and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A special mention is extended to his mother- and father-in-law Elizabeth and Frank Nash for a lifetime of love and support. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Yvonne. The family would like to express their many thanks to family, friends, and the local community for their tireless support, love and care throughout this journey. Thanks are also extended to the AVRSB community, the Canadian Forces community, and staff at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre, Valley Regional Hospital, Western Kings Memorial Health Centre, the Victorian Order of Nurses and the Palliative Care team. In keeping with Ed’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service was held 2:00PM, Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in Queen of Heaven Chapel, 14 Wing Greenwood with Padre Allan Murphy officiating. A reception for family and friends followed the service. By request, family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Ed may be made to the AVRSB Breakfast Program or Wounded Warriors Canada.
