Opal Eileen Huestis (nee Ward), aged 87 years, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I., on Saturday, April 18, 2015. Opal was born in Berwick, N.S., to her late parents Wilbur and Ina (nee Gould) Ward. Beloved wife of Earl James Huestis and loving mother of Eileen (Ross) Ramsay of Smiths Falls, Ontario. Also lovingly remembered by her four grandchildren, Julie (Kevin) Ingleby, Melanie (Derek) Miedema, Nicole (Darren) Salmond, Gloria (Josh) Foster, and 10 beautiful great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Opal was predeceased by her two sisters Doris and Vivian. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Tuesday, April 21, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 p.m. Interment to take place in Smiths Falls, Ontario, at a later date. Memorial donations in Opal’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Salvation Army. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. until time of funeral.
