It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and friend.
Born Nov. 26, 1939, dad passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, on Sunday, May 3, 2015, after a lengthily illness.
Dad was a millwright at Sydney Steel blast furnace and bar mill.
He is survived by two daughters, Jaynie Robar, Sydney, and Donna Ellis, Florida. Also surviving his grandson Brandon Ellis who lived with PaPa; two granddaughters, Jenna Robar, Sydney, and Victoria Hough, Florida; his friend, Irene Seward; his former wife, Louise Burton; his longtime friend Gerry MacLean (Scott, Glen and Mark).
He was predeceased by his father and mother Wilfred and Mildred Ellis, and brother Robert Ellis.
Visitation for Donald will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 7 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. William Legge officiating. Interment to take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
