David Henry Coady

Lieu de naissance : New Waterford

Lieu de décès : Guelph, Ontario, Canada
Date de décès : 23 mai 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Henry Coady on May 23, 2015.
David was born in New Waterford, N.S., the son of the late Harold and Catherine Coady.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Donna Lee Coady (Durdle); daughter, Jacqueline Loft (Jarrett) and precious granddaughters, Ayanna and Anica. David is also survived by his siblings: twin brother, Harold Coady (Karen), the late Maxine Conrad (Sam), Judy Farrell (late Benny), Carol MacKinnon (Peter), Ambrose Coady (Carmel), Doris Rigby (David), Joe Coady (late Charmaine), Nancy McKinnon (Tony), Gerald Coady (Debbie) and Chris Coady; son-in-law to Len and Gladys Durdle; brother-in-law to Alan Durdle (Cathy), Lorna Durdle (Greg Danchuk), Eva Doell (Brad), Rhona Reynen (Gord) and the late George Durdle; uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.
David was employed for over 30 years, working with youth, at McNeill House and Frontenac Youth Services in Oshawa, Ont., where he was a role model and friend to many. Although it wasn’t easy to leave their friends in Oshawa, four years ago David and Donna relocated to Guelph to be closer to their daughter Jacqueline and her family. There, they spent treasured time being devoted grandparents to Ayanna and Anica. David cherished every minute of his daily adventures with the girls.
David was proud of his Cape Breton heritage and returned every year to visit friends and family. He loved the Cape Breton Highlands, Hay Cove and Point Michaud. Although Algonquin Park was a favourite place in Ontario, he loved camping throughout the province, especially with his daughter and grandchildren. These were special times and a great source of stories and humour to share.
A memorial service will be held at the University of Guelph Arboretum Centre on Sunday, June 14th at 11 a.m. The Arboretum is a sanctuary and classroom for those who delight in the beauty and wonders of nature. A red oak has been dedicated in the Arboretum, to honour David's memory.
Donations may be made in David's memory to the University of Guelph Arboretum, University of Guelph, ON N1G 2W1.
Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL.
Condolences may be forwarded through Wall-Custance Funeral Home and Chapel, Guelph.
