Mary Gwynneth “Gwen” Lowther, age 75, of Falmouth passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 in the Windsor Elms, Falmouth.
Born in Lachine, PQ, she was a daughter of the late Elgin and Mary Christina (Hughes) Rathwell. Gwen loved to knit, giving away and knitting for anyone who asked especially hats for people with cancer. She also enjoyed singing and was a member of the Amherst Travellers singing group.
Gwen is survived by her daughter, Donna (Raymond) Niemelainen, Meadowvale; son Robert Lowther, Calgary; brothers, Bruce (Maureen) Rathwell, Oakville, ON and Allen (Shirley) Rathwell, Chateauguay, PQ and grandsons, Zachary and Gideon. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George and son Keith. Cremation has taken place.
The family would like to thank the staff at Victoria Manor. Ray Marshall for giving mom kindness and love. The Windsor Elms in Falmouth for all the kindness and caring during mom's last months and in particular the people working in the Meadowview area.
Donations in memory of Gwen may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Cancer Society.
