Second World War veteran of The Royal Navy and lifelong member of The Royal Canadian Legion, passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, age 93.
Son of the late Rev. Hugh and Edith Facey, Heart's Content, NL. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Gladys, his 5 brothers and one sister. Survived by sons, Noel (Beverly) and Tony; daughters, Beverley (Sidney Peddle) and Janet (John Prentice); sister-in-law, Doreen Facey (St. John's); 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He also leaves a large circle of nieces, nephews and close friends.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. A service of remembrance will be held in Prince Edward Island at St. Mark's Anglican Church, South Rustico, on Saturday, June 6, at 1 p.m. Burial will take place in Newfoundland at a later date.
No flowers by request. Memorial donations made to the War Amps of Canada or charity of one's choice, would be appreciated.
