It is with great sadness that the family of the late JOHN LAKE of South East Bight announces his passing at the Long Term Care Facility in St. John’s, on Saturday, June 6th, at the age of 101. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are son, Donald (Florence) of South East Bight; daughters, Elizabeth Murphy (Raymond) of St. John’s, Cecilia Lake of St. John’s, Regina Brewer (Joseph) of South East Bight & Matilda Whyte (Anthony) of South East Bight; sister, Veronica Connors of Placentia; 28 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Isadore Ward; special friends, Jim, Joan & Mary Ward; plus a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary; parents, John & Matilda; son, William; daughter, Theresa; sisters, Betsy Byrne & Flora Gambin; brothers, Peter & Dan.

The Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in South East Bight, on Tuesday, June 9th, at 1:00 p.m. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in South East Bight. In John’s memory donations may be made to St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in South East Bight or flowers gratefully accepted.
