It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wendy (Degaust) Erickson on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, after a lengthy illness.
Wendy was, and forever will be, known for her smile, heart, warmth, humour and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends.
Born Oct. 25, 1965, she was taken away from us far too soon. Wendy was a devoted wife to Sheldon 'Shelly' Erickson and amazing mother to Tony Erickson, loving daughter to Bernie and the late Josie (Harrietha) Degaust, sister to Dougie and Jimmy Degaust, amazing aunt to Timothy, Jenna, Daman, and Sonny-Jo Degaust, Nickolas and Jensen Erickson. She was also an adored daughter-in-law to Sheldon and the late Isabel (Thompson) Erickson, sister-in-law and dear friend to Shelia and Kelly Degaust, and brothers-in-law, Scott and Stephen Erickson.
A service to celebrate Wendy’s life will be held at the John J. Nugent Firemen's Center, 1 Elliott St., Sydney Mines at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June13, 2015, with Deacon Greg Murphy officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Alder Point Community Hall for family and friends to reminisce.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, 10 Clyde Ave., Sydney Mines.
