It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jessie Stratton announce her passing on Thursday June 11, 2015 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care in Corner Brook at the age of 77 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband Rodney, son: Rodney Jr (Ellen), daughter Wanda (Rodney) of Massey Drive, grandchildren: Terri (Dennis) Park of Irish Town, Michael Stratton (Stephanie), of Fort McMurray, Sarah Stratton (Matt) of Corner Brook, great granddaughter Layla of Fort McMurray, sisters; Betty James, Daisy (Roland) Park, Mona Park, Joan Reader-Park, brothers: James (Violet) Wells, Dougald (Doris) Wells, Charles (Diana) Wells, Terry (Evelyn) Wells, Byron (Ina) Wells, the Stratton family, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Stephen and Dorthy Wells, parents-in-law: Abel and Jessie Stratton, brothers-in-law: Wilfred James, Alex Park, Wilfred Stratton, Charles Dewling, and William Lee, sisters-in-law: Muriel Pearce, and Minnie Stratton. Visitation will take place from Fillatre's Funeral Home 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday June 11th, at 7-9 pm, and Friday June 12th, at 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday June 13th at 3 pm from First United Church Park Street with Reverend John van Vliet officiating, with interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to The Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
