GAUDET, COLOMBE MARIE
The death of Colombe Gaudet of Oromocto occurred on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born January 5th, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Marie (Thibodeau) Maillet and wife to the late Yvon Gaudet.
Colombe worked in the kitchen at CFB Gagetown for many years before retiring. She loved to cook and especially loved feeding her many friends and family. She had an unshakeable faith and had been attending St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church since her and her husband, Yvon moved to the area in 1955. Colombe loved to quilt and play cards, and even more than playing, she loved to win.
Colombe is survived by her children, Norma Hussey (Rod) of Fredericton, NB, Roger Gaudet (Velda) of Regina, SK, Linda Gaudet (Dan Crocker) of Tracy, NB, Danny Gaudet (Tammy) of Rusagonis, NB and Jacqueline Carr (Kenny) of Geary, NB; her grandchildren, Mark Carr, Curtis Carr, Jenny Larocque, Jessie Gaudet and Bradley Gaudet; her six great-grandchildren; her siblings, Imelda Caissie, Rosa Boucher, Anita Robichaud, Aris Maillet (Maria) and Leo Maillet (Florence) as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Yvon, her son, Johnnie; her grandson, Mitchell Carr and her siblings, Camille Maillet and Huberte Maillet.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Friday, June 19th, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 20th, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
