It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Russell Maxwell, age 78, of Aulac, NB. Arthur passed away peacefully at Highcrest Nursing Home, Springhill on Thursday, June 18, 2015.
Born in Rockport, NB, he was a son of the late Russell and Marion (Willis) Maxwell.
He was a welder and pipefitter by trade with CNR in Moncton for most of his career. He loved Rockport and always enjoyed a visit "back home" He was a great handyman, and was frequently visited by friends dropping in to get repairs done on anything and everything.
He loved animals, especially dogs and horses. He enjoyed watching the old Western Movies, listening to country music, and strumming his guitar.
He will be missed by his daughters Bonnie (Sterling) Carter, Amherst, and Pam (Rodney) Gray, Fenwick, NS; 5 grandchildren, Caitlin, Paige, Amanda, Blake and Eva; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son Russell in infancy; siblings Marion Tower, Freda Callender, Betty Nelson and Harry Maxwell.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). In keeping with Arthur's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at a later date in the Sackville Cemetery.
Those wishing to make a donation in Arthur's memory may do so to the Alzheimer's Society, the LA Animal Shelter, or the charity of one's choice.
