We regret to announce the passing of our sister, Helen (Ferguson) Desy on June 19, 2015, in Kitchener, Ont., after a courageous battle with ALS.
Born in Louisbourg, she was the daughter of the late Daniel W. and Lena (Baldwin) Ferguson.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle and Danielle, and son, Andre; sisters, Anna Bagnell, Sydney, Eileen (Weldon) Blank, Shubenacadie, Patsy (Jackie) MacDonald, Catalone, Margie (Mike) Wadden, Sydney; brothers, Dannie (June), Dartmouth, Louis, Louisbourg; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Hector.
Helen was employed as a CNA for many years in Glace Bay, Ontario and Quebec. She was a caring individual who helped many people and was devoted to her family and friends. her children and grandchildren brought her the greatest enjoyment in life.
As requested, a private funeral and interment will take place in Kitchener, Ont.
A memorial mass will be held at Stella Maris Church, Louisbourg, on Friday, June 26, 2015, at 2 p.m. with Fr. Raj as celebrant. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
