Hillside - Hugh Edward MacAulay, age 62, of Hillside, Pictou Co., passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 in QE II New Infirmary Site. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Malcolm and Mary (Rector) MacAulay. Hugh was a welder by trade and was employed at Trenton Works and Maritime Steel. He was a member of the Gun Club and enjoyed spending time with his family and working in the yard. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Stallard); daughters: Shelley Boucher and Gillian (Paul Freeman), both of Grande Prairie, Alberta; grandsons: Palmer, Ryan and Noah; sisters: Jessie Terris, May MacDonald, Diane (Phillip) Perry, Helen (Lloyd) MacKinnon, Bessie (Robert) Howe; brothers: Clarence “Bud”, Herbert, John (Darlene). He was predeceased by a son, Christopher Lee Stallard; sister, Annie. Visitation 7-9 pm Thursday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
