DOWELL, Linda Ann Gertrude (Spratt) - June 2, 1947 to June 27, 2015 - Linda was born in Windsor Ontario June 2 1947 and passed away in her sleep in Middleton, Nova Scotia on June 27 2015. Linda was a kind and gentle soul with a deep faith and a trust in God. She loved all children especially her own and spent many years with the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board. Her fondest years were in Springfield Consolidated School where she was a director and teacher in the pre-school program. The children she “mothered” and taught were her pride and joy. She truly loved each child she worked with and they loved her. She has a special place in her heart for Karyn. When she arrived home she always had something nice to say or a story to tell about her students. Comments to her school children, and her own children were positive and encouraging. Linda was protective of her family and saw only the goodness in each and every one of them. She loved her summer visits to Ontario, Kejimkujik Park camping with evening drives to look at the deer, watching her children play, swim, catch frogs, and time around the nightly campfire. The Bay of Fundy was also special with many days spent walking along the beach with her children, looking for crabs and fish in the pools of water left as the tide went out. Linda was predeceased by her mother Gertrude (Maheux) Spratt, her father Nolan Spratt, brother Brian, sister in law Jan Spratt, and sister Karen (Terry) Nichol. Linda is survived by brothers, Gary (Sue) and Keith (Marcia), husband Edgar Dowell, sons, Edgar Jr. (Samira); Darrell (Miki); Sean (Sawako); Joshua (Tamara); daughter, Kristi Dowell, grandchildren Alexander, Bronte, Sean Jr, Kana, JD, Ayla, and Mosher and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7:00PM to 9:00PM Monday, July 13, 2015 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. The Memorial Service will be held 2:00PM, Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church, Middleton with Father Jose Thomas officiating.
