Jacob (Jake) Dyck, age 88, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the Palliser Regional Care Centre, Swift Current, SK. Jake was born on February 13, 1927, at Neuhoffnung, SK, to Jacob & Maria Dyck. Jake went to school near Wymark in the Dunelm area south of Swift Current. He was baptized in the Sommerfeld Church. Jake & Katie Rempel were married in 1952, at the Sommerfeld Church in Rosenhof, SK. They lived in various locations, but settled into Swift Current in 1967, and lived at that residence until Katie’s passing in 2012. Jake lived on his own until April, 2013, when he needed to go into a care facility in Gull Lake. In August, 2014, he moved into the Palliser Regional Care Centre where he resided until his passing. Throughout Jake’s life he worked at various jobs: driving truck, ambulance, school bus and taxi just to name a few. Jake is survived by his children, Robin & Harry and families, Rose & Mike and families and Randy & Lynda and families; one brother, Pete; and by two sisters, Marie and Tina. He was predeceased by his wife, Katie; three infant children, Raymond, Rhoda and Regan; two grandsons, Darren Friesen and Jona Davison; his parents, Jacob & Maria Dyck; two brothers, John and Ben; and by two sisters, Marie (in infancy) and Margaret.
A Private Family Graveside Service was held at the Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery, Rhineland, SK with Donovan Epp officiating. In memory of Jake Dyck, donations made to Cypress Hills Bible Camp, P.O. Box 786, Maple Creek, SK, S0N 1N0 would be appreciated by the family.
