Allan John "Doc" Waite, age 78, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Gull Lake Care Centre, Gull Lake, SK. Allan leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 31 years, Sharon; his sister, Doris Thoreson; his brother, Doug (Blanche) Waite; his nephews, Terry Thoreson (Bruna Scharf) of Saskatoon, SK, Brian Waite of Toronto, SK, Gary (Kate) Waite of Fredricton, NB, Trevor Waite (Corie Dey) of Cabri, SK; and his niece, Angela Waite of Calgary, AB. He was predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Annie Waite; his brother, Robert "Bob" Waite; his sister-in-law, Audrey Waite; his brother-in-law, Rudolph Thoreson; and by his father-in-law, Lee Polishuk. Allan was born on February 3, 1937, at Cabri, SK to Charles & Annie Waite. He received his elementary education at Panorama School in the Roseray district and his high school in Hazlet, SK. It was during high school that he was given the nickname, "Doc", which remained with him throughout his working career. After high school Allan moved to Moose Jaw where he was employed by Sask. Power as a lineman. He then moved to Fort St. John, BC and then to Prince George, BC where he was employed by BC Hydro. There he supervised a large crew of men, equipment and helicopters. His crew told us, "he was very good at his job". Allan purchased a farm in Pennant area and shortly after he came home and farmed with Doug and Trevor. He was also employed by the RM of Riverside. Woodworking became one of his hobbies and he supplied Sharon with projects for her painting craft shows and classes. As a sports fan, he enjoyed cheering for the Blue Jays and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Allan's dogs, King, Bentley and Timmy were his faithful buddies. Allan will be remembered for his dry witt and spontaneous humor.
At Allan's request, there will be no Funeral Service. His final resting place will be in the family plot at the Bestville Cemetery. In memory of Allan, donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Kidney Association would be appreciated by the family.
